Kanye West Faces Lawsuit Over Alleged Discrimination and Harassment at Donda Academy

Date:

In a shocking turn of events, rapper Kanye West, now known as Ye, is facing a lawsuit filed by a former employee of his private school, Donda Academy. The lawsuit alleges that West engaged in severe discrimination, harassment, and retaliation, and even expressed a desire to shave students' heads and lock them in cages.

Trevor Phillips, the plaintiff, who also previously worked for West's fashion brand Yeezy, filed the lawsuit on Tuesday. He accuses West of spreading antisemitic conspiracy theories in front of staff and students and making inappropriate sexual behavior and anti-LGBTQ comments.

Phillips alleges that West compared himself to Adolf Hitler and threatened physical violence. He also claims that West made derogatory remarks about Jews, calling them "miserly" and even going so far as to call Adolf Hitler "an innovator." West also allegedly deemed the Holocaust "fake."

The lawsuit also details an incident where West allegedly threatened to attack the LGBTQ community, saying that Bill Gates "controls" gay people. Phillips further claimed that West was discriminatory towards his Black employees, stating that he treated them "palpably worse than white employees.”

Phillips' attorney, Carney R. Shegerian, said in a statement, "By filing this lawsuit, we hope our injured clients’ rights are vindicated, and that the famous artist Mr. West understands that his messages – which we alleged preach discrimination, antisemitism and Hitler-love – have no place in the world."

This legal action is the latest in a series of discrimination and wrongful termination lawsuits filed by former employees of West and his school. Last April, two former teachers filed a lawsuit, claiming they were wrongfully terminated from Donda Academy. Then in June, a photographer sued West for assault, battery, and negligence over an incident that happened in Newbury Park.

Phillips is seeking more than $35,000 in damages and an injunction preventing West from starting any kind of school for children under the age of 18 in California.

West has not publicly responded to the allegations. His representatives and attorneys for Donda Academy did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
