In a tragic turn of events, a male driver lost his life after his vehicle crashed into a security barrier surrounding the White House complex late Saturday night. The incident, which is currently being investigated as a traffic accident, occurred at the intersection of 15th Street and Pennsylvania Avenue NW, according to the Metropolitan Police Department.
The unidentified driver was found dead at the scene shortly before 10:30 p.m., as per a statement from the Secret Service. The authorities were alerted to the incident at 10:46 p.m., and upon arrival, they pronounced the adult male dead from the crash.
The incident took place while President Joe Biden was away for the weekend in Delaware. The Secret Service has assured that there was no threat to the White House, and security protocols were promptly put into action.
